A Woodland Venue for Unforgettable Gatherings

Set in the heart of 120 acres of ancient woodland, Oak and Ash and Thorn offers an amazing and secluded space for those seeking something wild, beautiful and unique.

There are streams and valleys to explore, ancient groves of yews and chestnuts, wild flowers galore. And importantly, no crowds.

We offer four separate camps for bushcrafters and wild campers, who want to hide themselves away in the woods for a night or two.

There is a family camp available for larger groups and two covered areas for larger groups who want to hold a gathering.

Everyone has a different way of engaging with the woods, be it a life celebration, a creative retreat or a weekend of unusual adventure. Want to know if your idea will work? Just ask.

We are based between Stroud and Tetbury in Gloucestershire, with Stroud being the closest station. We are open for most weekends over the summer, from May until October.

The Camps

Butterfly Glide - a glade in the woods perfect for private hire and day gatherings

Butterfly Glide

A wide open plateau in amongst a cathedral of beeches. Perfect for day events for groups of up to 60 people. Good for chilled-out gatherings, family parties and ceremonies in an epic space within the woods. Camping available separately

Little Camp

A perfect hideout in the middle of the woods, down some grassy stairs and into a clearing in ancient woodland. The camp is in an alley of ancient trees - chestnut and yew. Great for quiet camping for groups of friends and families.

Shindig Corner - private hire of woodland space for small parties 
A place for a party in the woods

Shindig Corner

No full-on raves but if you’d like to get together for a birthday or party with friends, with camping, some music and a good campfire, this is the spot to book. Close to the carpark and lots of space to camp. Up to 30 people.

These are our small camps for parties of up to four people who want to slip quietly into the woods for a quiet camp. We release dates for these around March or April.
