The Halloween

Bat Walk

with Bridget Nicholls

Friday 31st October 2025

4.30pm - 7pm

This isn’t your average bat walk. It’s a special Halloween evening in Voltaire’s Woods, near Minchinhampton with “cultural” bat expert Bridget Nicholls/

She has led bat walks across the world and turned natural history into living art — translating science into sound, story and wonder. Now she brings her bat detectors, her folklore and her fascination with the unseen to our local woods.

Bridget is an authority on cultural entomology, bat expert, and former Artist in Residence at London Zoo (where she lived in a shepherd’s hut).

As darkness gathers, we’ll listen for the clicks and calls of bats weaving through the trees, explore the myths that surround them and tune our ears to the hidden frequencies of the night. Expect stories, sonar, and a touch of Halloween mischief.

This walk is great for adults and children alike. Just bring curiousity and some good walking shoes.

Adults £20, children £5
