The nature of the camp

Shindig Corner sits near the house in the woods with a space for gathering, playing music and dancing and a separate area to pitch tents and camp out. It’s tucked away so you will have privacy and space to roam but it is also a short walk from the car park, over a stream.

It’s good for feasts and get-togethers. We don’t mind amplified music until 11pm but no full-on sound systems. Music after 11pm goes down to a chilled out level.

There’s a flat plateau for tents away from the main area. Please note, this area is being redesigned for the summer of 2026 so photos don’t represent the space, but it will be a magical little area - trust us.

Getting there

This camp is a walk-to camp but only a couple of minutes from the car park. You should be able to walk your kit to it with an easy stroll. For anything heavy, the camping manager will be on hand for portering to and fro during your stay.

Pricing

Base camp fee + attendee

Base Camp: £400

We charge a flat fee for the use of the camp, which covers Friday from midday through to Sunday midday. This includes 5 acres of private space, firewood and charcoal, a grill and basic cookware, water, help with set-up and an on-call manager for your group.

Attendees: £25 per attendee

£25 per adult. Children up to 18 are £12.50. This covers parking and portering. We can accept up to 30 people with space for camping for all of them, including van park-ups for three vans.

To Book

  1. Check availability on our calendar. The Friday 10am slot is a booking for the whole weekend, giving you time to set up and take down.

  2. Drop an email to bo@oakandashandthorn.com with details of your group plus an idea of numbers - we need to agree the style of party and noise levels with us first before booking.

  3. Reserve by paying the Base Camp fee via our calendar

  4. Guests can either pay as they arrive or you can pay up front.
